This project was for my internship at UNE. I was tasked with redoing the menu signage in the Ripich dining hall of UNE. The way the menus were being done was by just having whoever was making the menu for the night throw some stuff on there with the menu. Nothing was cohesive or thought out. My first step was looking around the dining hall at the colors and recurring themes that occurred. I noticed that they had this wall tile pattern that was used in a couple places but nowhere else that I wanted to incorporate. I also noticed that rope was used a lot, since UNE is right by the ocean. One challenge with this project was making all the signage cohesive and incorporating aspects of the dining hall that get swept under the rug, i.e. the tile wall. Some aspects of this project that I enjoyed was that I had full creative freedom and made templates for the staff to be able to use without me having to help. I utilized rope, the Parkhurst colors, and the tile wall to create the menus.
